Ken Reed is listed as the Secretary/Treasurer of Youth Ministries, ORW's front group. Despite claiming he works for 40 hours a week for ORW without a salary he is the father of ten children, and resides in a large house valued over $130,000. He is married to Dianna L. Reed. Not surprising they homeschool their children. As far as we know one goes to school at Newman University and another is currently in London, England. Ken was part of a missionary trip to Haiti in order to convert Haitians to Christianity. Some Haitians were upset by this and roughed up some of the missionaries. Ken was hiding and came out after the locals had left. Good for him too, he would have soiled a nice pair of pants. Ken is an advocate of violence once putting a clinic escort in a headlock and punching him in the face. This was preceded by a verbal harassment of a clinic patient's boyfriend. Whenever we see him at the clinic he often hides because he knows he could get his ass kicked since he's such an out of shape fuck. Ken used to hang out with Jeff White, Joe Foreman and Gary McCollough and do what they called "minuteman" (not referring to his bravado in the bedroom) attacks on clinics. This involved them storming through the doors, smashing up equipment, terrorizing and assaulting staff and patients, then bolting before they could get arrested. This same cadre of men tried to start a coup to wrestle control of Operation Rescue away from Randall Terry after they convinced him to spend some time in jail for clinic blockades. They were upset that Terry wasn't resorting to violence and wanted a more militant direction for the organization like their friends in the Army of God. When that failed they bolted the organization and formed their own groups. Joe Foreman formed Missionaries to the Preborn, McCollough eventually went back to Terry, and Ken and Jeff White formed Operation Rescue California. With Jeff the organization continued their reign of harassment. Along the way fellow terrorists like Troy Newman, Cheryl Sullenger and Robert Ferguson joined. The organization was eventually brought down by a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood. Rather than give up Jeff White passed on leadership under a new name to Troy Newman, and Ken Reed followed in tow. |
