An epidemic of self-righteousness is sweeping pharmacies across the nation as fanatical zealots line up to play the persecuted theocrat role. That epidemic struck Wichita last week when a pharamacist decided that not doing your job is a guaranteed freedom under the First Amendment. A married mother of two children came in asking for a prescription for emergency contraception be filled. The pharmacist decided that the woman and her doctor had no authority to demand such a stressful task of filling a bottle with a few pills and rejected the request sending the woman elsewhere to get the prescription filled.

Planned Parenthood was contacted and the result was a 53 person protest at the offending Walgreens at 1555 S. Broadway. On the opposite side of the street was the pro-abort/anti-choicers who

preferred that women and even rape victims get pregnant and have an abortion rather than prevent implantation. Their numbers totalled a mere 14 people.

The numbers weren't on their side, neither were the facts. Constant cries of abortion were spewed from Mark Bollocks, um, Hollick's megaphone in a droning monotone sound. He claimed the drug RU-486 was being dispensed despite the fact that Walgreen's neither carries that pill nor is it available practically anywhere in the United States. The antis are as informed as they are attractive.

Since this wave of religio-fascism is sweeping across the nation (Walgreens fired five pharmacists in Illinois for refusing to do

their jobs, Walgreens is now being sued by assassination advocate Pat Robertson's ACLJ) the local media covered the event. The Eagle was there, along with every television network. KAKE filmed live and they actually gave a fair presentation for once. Only one news team went to interview the antis, everyone else figured they already heard their rhetoric before and would just play archived footage.

Mark Bollocks whined and whined with demands that pro-freedom advocates go to his side of the street so he can more intimately whine about how Jesus never used birth control. Other times were spent with threats of eternal damnation for

using birth control and how Walgreens personally performs abortions and taking birth control has "murdered" thousands of women across the United States. Yeah, he never does make much sense.

The fact is 70% of all conceptions fail to implant on the uterine lining and end up as miscarriages. This is done without a pill, without a turkey baster, without anything other than divine will. So that makes Hollick's god the biggest, in his mind, abortionist of them all. I could ask why Hollick doesn't yell at God for this injustice but he already does a great job giving Christians a bad name so we'll just leave it at that. Hollick is a prime example why doctors should make medical decisions and preachers should stick to begging for a living.

The event ended with success as we were told that Walgreens is going to reprimand the lazy, self-righteous pharmacist and that Walgreens will continue with it's policy of filling all legal prescriptions. The offending pharamicist will, no doubt, demand special rights that arrogant Bible Thumpers be allowed to lie at job interviews and get paid for refusing to do their jobs. When the pharmacist accepted his position he told his employer that he was going to do a job, he lied. One would think lying would be a sinful act according to the dictates of the Christian religion, however Bible beating theocrats have a double standard when it comes for lying about what they think their gods will approve of.

To the Walgreen's management, thank you for doing the right thing by discipling your fanatical employee.
