March 11, 2005 Another Postcard from ORW |
| The Maggot Punks have acquired another one of ORW's postcards from one of our Christian supporters (contrary to Dion Lefler's assumption that we hate all Christians, just Bible thumping, fundy theocrats like ORW and their ilk). This new postcard is written in the same grammar school mentality as the other two therefore we assume Cheryl Sullenger (Clinic Bomber) had a hand in it's authoring. Recently Clinic Bomb...er Cheryl had a guest column in the Wichita Eagle lamenting about how Phill Kline is perfectly within his self-defined legal rights to search the private medical records of whomever he likes. It's kinda like Osama Bin Laden pleading for the removal of security checkpoints at airports. Convicted terrorists are not the voice of reason in society (no Maggot Punk has ever been convicted of a terrorist act, unlike many of Operation Rescue West's staff). | ![]() |

It's not surprising that ORW writes such childish material and attempts to hide behind a shield of anonymity. Isn't that the definition they provide for "weasel," someone who is sneaky and evasive? If ORW isn't weasley then they ought to come right out and say they are behind the postcards. It's no coincidence that when ORW planned on protesting in Leawood, KS that postcards arrived in Leawood from a Wichita postmark. The other anti-abortion organization in town flatly rejects sending out the postcards, Troy Newman does not. In fact it fits with ORW's plan of harassment and he has sent postcards of such a nature in the past with his name signed on them. So why does ORW and Troy Newman insist on being so "weasley?" |

![]() Operation Rescue's postcard intended to intimidate Wesley employees |
Since Operation Rescue West invaded Wichita they have used their extensive funds to mail cowardly threats throughout Wichita in an effort to intimidate the public to push ORW's theocratic view. The Maggot Punks obtained a couple of these postcards from a family that felt threatened by these "anonymous" cards. The cards have been mentioned in Rolling Stone Magazine and other publications. Each time ORW President Troy Newman was asked about the postcards he denied knowledge of them. Perhaps he thinks the public is gullible enough to buy that lie. The postcards advertise ORW's agenda and their rhetoric. The question is why does ORW feel the need to hide their connection to these postcards? The answer is quite simple, these postcards are illegal. |
Spunkyflasher found that in Section 876 of Chapter 41 of Title 18 of the United States Code dealling with criminal behavior states that the mailing of threatening communications is a felony. Pay particular attention to section D where it states: "Whoever,
with intent to extort from any person any money or other thing of value,
knowingly so deposits or causes to be delivered, as aforesaid, any communication,
with or without a name or designating mark subscribed thereto, addressed
to any other person and containing any threat to injure the property

A member of the medical staff wrote a letter to the editor in the Wichita Eagle concerning these illegal postcards: Deceptive mailing |
